New Land, New Life! Traveling Exhibit

July 1, 2017 @ 10:00 AM - September 30, 2017 @ 4:00 PM

Free

The traveling exhibit, “New Land, New Life: Norwegian Immigration in Minnesota: 1825-1925” explores the first one hundred years of Norwegian immigration in Minnesota and is a collaboration of the Ramsey County Historical Society and the St. Paul Sons of Norway Synnove-Nordkap lodge.
The exhibit panels interpret primary and secondary research of Professors Carlton Qualey and John Gjerde on one of the earliest and larger ethnic groups to settle the Minnesota frontier. One in five Minnesotans claim Norwegian ancestry.
The traveling exhibit in Marshall is co-sponsored by the Lyon County Historical Society and the Canby Sons of Norway Vennskap lodge.
