The Lyon County Historical Society (LCHS) is a non-profit, member supported organization located in downtown Marshall, Minnesota. LCHS operates the Lyon County Museum, which is located at 301 West Lyon Street in Marshall, MN. The museum is located in the former Marshall-Lyon County Library building, which was built in 1967.
The mission of the society is:
“The purpose of the society shall be the collection, preservation and dissemination of knowledge about the history of Lyon County and to relate it to the history of the region and the state of Minnesota."
The museum includes semi-permanent and temporary exhibits, research center/genealogical society, gift shop, and a Schwan's ice cream shop.
RESEARCH & GENEALOGY
The Joseph A. Amato Research Center is located on the main floor of the Lyon County Museum. The research center is open to the public. Browse resources located in the room.
