The Lyon County Historical Society (LCHS) is a non-profit, member supported organization located in downtown Marshall, Minnesota. The museum is located in the former Marshall-Lyon County Library building, which was built in 1967.
The mission of the society is:
“The purpose of the society shall be the collection, preservation and dissemination of knowledge about the history of Lyon County and to relate it to the history of the region and the state of Minnesota."
The museum includes semi-permanent and temporary exhibits, research center/genealogical society, gift shop, and a Schwan's ice cream shop.

EXHIBITS
