The Lyon County Museum consists of three floors of exhibit galleries, storage rooms, work space, research space, and programming space.  The exhibit galleries are a combination of semi-permanent and temporary exhibits.

Semi-permanent exhibits include: Schwan’s Ice Cream Shop, Heritage Room, Veterans’ Honor Wall, and Life on the Prairie exhibit.

LCHS Board and Staff are developing an exhibit gallery on the 2nd floor of the museum with the assistance of Minnesota Cultural and Heritage Grants, also known as Legacy grants. The goal is to open a hands on, highly immersive exhibit gallery by 2020.

Temporary Exhibits

Temporary exhibits include: Schools of Lyon County, Lyon County Courthouse Snapshot: 1891-1994, and Where We Shopped and What We Wore: Retail in Lyon County, 1870-1965.
