6/9/2020 Update:

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancelation of community celebrations in June and July along with the Lyon County Fair, public events and activities for Lyon County’s sesquicentennial are postponed to 2021.  This will allow celebrating the anniversary at all the community celebrations and the fair next summer as was intended.

While celebrating the anniversary with public events and activities is postponed to next year, the anniversary will continue to be honored this year. A Lyon County images book will be released for purchase this year along with t-shirts commemorating the anniversary.  A flyover of the county with a commemorative banner is planned for around the anniversary of August 12.  In addition, the Lyon County Museum plans to have a display and produce videos and online programs commemorating the anniversary.  More plans may be added or subject to change.

We appreciate your support and patience. While these are troubling times, we are looking forward to continuing to celebrate Lyon County’s 150th anniversary in 2021.
