SUMMARY:The 6th Annual Indoor Christmas Tree Walk
DESCRIPTION:The 6th Annual Indoor Christmas Tree Walk opens at the Lyon County Museum on Saturday\, November 17. The trees stay lit until New Year’s Eve. \nView decorated trees by non-profit organizations\, businesses\, and service organizations. \nTo vote for your favorite(s)\, place money in a box located by each tree. The top 3 organizations/businesses with the most money in their boxes will win the 2018 tree walk. They will receive Marshall Chamber dollars. \nAll proceeds from the boxes will go to benefit the Lyon County Historical Society’s mission of preserving and presenting Lyon County history. \nThe trees are available to view during regular museum hours: \nMonday\, Tuesday\, Wednesday\, Friday: 10:00-5:00 \nThursday: 10:00-7:00 \nSaturday: 10:00-4:00 \nSunday: Closed \nThe museum is closed on November 22 & 23 and December 25.

SUMMARY:Holiday Home Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Holiday Home Tour is a fundraiser for the Lyon County Historical Society and is Sunday\, December 2\, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.\, tickets $20/each. \nThe tour can be done in any order. The ticket book includes a description of each home and the museum’s Heritage Room exhibit along with a map. \nThe Lyon County Museum will be open from Noon – 4:00 p.m. on the day of the tour for cookies and refreshments. The museum is decked out for the holidays. DESCRIPTION:The West Central Minnesota Historical Association traveling exhibit\, The Great War; the Great Impact: How WWI Hit Home in West Central Minnesota\, opens at the Lyon County Museum\, 301 W Lyon St\, Marshall on December 10.  The traveling exhibit runs in Marshall until January 18. \nThe West Central Minnesota Historical Association (WCMHA) is a collaboration of the county and area historical societies and museums of 10 counties in West Central Minnesota. The counties included are Big Stone\, Chippewa\, Kandiyohi\, Lac Qui Parle\, Lincoln\, Lyon\, Redwood\, Renville\, Swift and Yellow Medicine. The purpose of this collaboration is to promote and tell the history of West Central Minnesota. \nThe traveling exhibit has been financed in part with funds provided by the State of Minnesota from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund through the Minnesota Historical Society. \nThe exhibit is available to view during regular museum hours: Mon\, Tues\, Wed\, Fri 10:00-5:00\, Thursday 10:00-7:00\, and Saturday 10:00-4:00
