Minnesota 1st Volunteer Regiment Reenactor

June 4, 2018 @ 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

The Lyon County Museum, 301 W Lyon St, will host David Johnson on Monday, June 4 at 6:30 pm.  David Johnson is a Historical Reenactor who will tell the story from the perspective of an eye witness of the Minnesota 1st Volunteers at Gettysburg and how they saved the day on July 2, 1863.  Free event and light refreshments will be served.

About the Presenter:

David Johnston graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in history. He went on to graduate studies at Bethel Theological Seminary in St. Paul and has served as a pastor since 1980. He is presently the Lead Pastor at Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Marshall. As a student of history, he has focused his studies on the Revolutionary War, the Civil War and American Presidents. He has taught in the Augsburg University College of the Third Age and recently the SMSU Gold College, and has lectured across the Twin Cities on American history over the last 20 years.
